MARTIN
Martin is known as the Keith Richards of the band due to his extensive drug use. In fairness, Martin’s drugs are for cholesterol and blood pressure. He learnt to play the guitar at a young age using Bert Weedon’s classic guitar tutor, ‘Play in a Day’. Martin has stubbornly refused to learn anything else since that day.
He is affectionately known as ‘ la quiete uno ‘, or, the quiet one, due to his insistence on keeping his guitar well down in the mix. He is best known for his involvement in the jazz / punk crossover band the ‘Sax Pistols’, for whom he wrote the seminal hit ‘Pretty Vacant’ about a dilapidated guest house in Blackpool.
His live kit is older than all the other band members and once featured on the Antiques Roadshow, where he was advised it may fetch £50 at auction if it actually worked. Danny has been trying to educate Martin about Heavy Metal music, but he has only just recovered from googling ‘AC/DC’ .
Martin joined Kill Bill when he fell over outside the Three Tuns.
